Long time no post…

September 27, 2013

Afternoon all.

It’s been a while since I last posted anything on here, so just wanted to let you all know what’s been going on.

To begin with I had the TMTM kickstarter which was awesome and you folk were amazing. I’ve since had everything but the t-shirts and the comic itself delivered. Here’re some piccies:

I’ll post more when they arrive!

I’ve also been putting together Nerd Fest Comic Con which takes place 5th October at the Britannia Hotel, NG1 6BN, 10am-4pm. Tickets are available if you fancy visiting us. I’ll also have a table there so if you missed out on my kickstarter I should have the goodies there too PLUS other bits and bobs!

Kickstarter Update

August 13, 2013

Wow!!! You folk are amazing!

At the time of writing this (13th Aug 22:45) we’ve long passed the first stretch goal (target above and beyond the target of £500) of £650 and are rocketing toward the second stretch goal of £800! We are currently at £715. This is phenomenal and I’m almost speechless.

So with the first stretch goal the reward for everyone pledging £20 or more will receive 4 TMTM badges with backer.

If/when we hit £800, everyone who has pledged £30 or more will receive a TMTM book with over 160 TMTM comic strips!!!

I can’t get over how generous and awesome you folk are. Thank you again.

Nerd Fest Comic Con 2013

July 3, 2013

Greetings all. Sorry for the lack of posts recently, but believe me when I say I have been busy!

I have a couple of sketch cards I’ve not posted BUT I’ve been spending most of my time on two projects.

159-the-plankFirst is my comic strip, The Monkey and the Mouse. I’m working on a 40ish page comic book which follows the two kiddies looking for cheese and venturing to…the Moon! (original I know!) About 6 pages inked so slowly getting on with it. (plus there will be the odd strip done – including tomorrow 4th July).

Most of my time, however, has been taken up with Nerd Fest Comic Con 2013, Nottingham UK, October 5th. We have some amazing artists booked in as well as local bands and so of the industry’s leading comic book artists! Tickets are now on sale if you fancy coming down for the activities, and if you’re a comic creator or artists tables are still available!

Gonna be awesome.

Will try to bring you more artwork as I do it. Hope to get things done for NF so will post when I have.

All you have to do is create a M&C art piece, OR just go colour in one of his! All info here! AND there are some awesome prizes too!!!!!

Anyway, here’s my entry, hope you like it…

Latest stuff

February 28, 2012

Greetings all. Really am slacking on posting stuff here, but here’re a few bits and bobs I’ve been doing.

Coming up with potential new comic characters for a new strip (maybe)

Also doing some more “signs” for Baby Signing Mummy…visit her site to see those.

GETTING SOME Band of Brothers shirts printed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will let you know when and where you can get those from VERY soon.

Also finished a family portrait commission:

PLUS I’m working on a comic script for my webcomic The Monkey and the Mouse, which I hope to start draft 2 of the script this week.

So all in all I have a few bits and bobs I’m working on, as well as usual sketching stuff. I tend to post most of my stuff on twitter, so if you’re about on there come take a look. Thanks

Marooned – Tom Dell’Aringa

October 12, 2011

A while back I noticed on a webcomic I read (Marooned by Tom Dell’Aringa) that they were running a competition to win a t-shirt, and so I entered…

Look what I won!

It’s an awesome pic of the comic’s lead John with a great take on the classic (which means dull) film 2001.

Go take  look at the comic it’s awesome with some hilarious writing and great artwork, as well as a ton of comics to buy, as hardcopy or pdf. Well worth a look.

New TMTM Sketchcards

August 15, 2011

Just thought I’d throw up a couple of sketchcards I did recently for our The Monkey and the Mouse minibook title winner, Kate Williams.

Hope you like

If you fancy a sketchcard of the TMTM characters, or anything else you fancy just contact me kev_brett at hotmail.com

TMTM Minibook

August 6, 2011

Morning folks. Feel as though I’ve abandoned this blog just lately. Sorry about that, I’ve been working hard to get my webcomic, The Monkey and the Mouse, minibook completed.  And guess what! It’s done!!

Take a look here for more info on it, including a list of the AWESOME artists who produced some stunning guest art for it!

You can also buy it for an introductory price of £1.95 EXCLUSIVELY on the Piddley Pix website

In other news, now that the book is done, I’ve started work on another book (not TMTM related) so hopefully I’ll get some stuff up about that soon. Plus there are always commissions and sketchcard stuff as well as some corporate work I’m still involved with. Fun times.

Parcel Full of Goodies

June 21, 2011

Received a parcel through the post this morning that I was kinda expecting…to a point.

My wife bought me a t-shirt from here and due to postal issues it was slightly delayed…the wait was TOTALLY worth it!!

The envelope was just the start of things to come:

The T-shirt I (and when I say “I” I obviously mean the missus) ordered is AWESOME!! Great quality shirt and the print just looks (to overuse the word) awesome.

But that wasn’t all! Look what else fell out that envelope of wonders!!

Anyone who follows this blog regularly will know how much I love Pokeweed so to have ALL of this in one envelope was like Christmas!!!!!

BUT that wasn’t all, oh no!!! AND THIS JUST MADE MY YEAR!!!!!!!!!

EVERYONE GO VISIT POKEWEED – SAYETH THE MAYOR!!

Thanks Drew Pocza – MY HERO!!
